I Survived Real Estate 2009 wins International Marketing Award
April 28th, 2010Riverside, CA (PRWEB) June 10, 2010 — The organizers of the successful “I Survived Real Estate” series, an annual event that brings together leading voices in the industry while raising money for breast cancer research, have been recognized in an international marketing competition.
The “I Survived Real Estate” panel featuring Christopher Thornberg, Rick Sharga, David Kittle, John Young, Tommy Williams, Pat Vredevoogd Combs, Jospeh Magdziarz, and Bruce Norris. The Norris Group, a diversified real estate company based in Riverside, Calif., received the 2010 Gold Award from Hermes Creative Awards for its production of “I Survived Real Estate 2009,” a black-tie event held last fall at the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda. Planning for the 2010 event, scheduled for Sept. 17, already is underway. The 2009 event raised $60,807 for the Orange County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which raises money for breast cancer research. That amount was the second-largest amount raised by any group in that chapter and was roughly 35 percent more than The Norris Group raised the previous year during “I Survived Real Estate 2008.” In total, these events have raised more than $105,000 during the past two years for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
In addition to receiving a gold award in the “special events” category, The Norris Group also received a gold award in the category of “audio/radio program.” The award recognizes the Norris Group Real Estate Radio Show and Podcast, which is hosted by company President Bruce Norris on KTIE 590AM.
“The Hermes awards are a testament to each member of the team that we have put together at The Norris Group and to the importance of the outreach goals behind the ‘I Survived Real Estate’ series,” Norris said. “It’s especially gratifying to win an award for your hard work when you know the end result was additional funding for such a worthy cause.”
Planning already is well underway for “I Survived Real Estate 2010,” which is scheduled for Sept. 17. The inaugural event in 2008 explored the origins of the market meltdown and last year’s version explored how different parts of the industry were adjusting to the market and various legislative efforts underway.
“I Survived Real Estate 2010” will revisit the topic of government intervention, provide legislative updates and bring a sharper focus to potential industry solutions. In addition to Bruce Norris, the panel for this fall’s event is scheduled to include Tommy Williams, 2008 President, National Auctioneers Association; Joseph Magdziarz, Vice-President, Appraisal Institute; Christopher Thornberg, Principal, Beacon Economics; and Sean O’Toole, President, ForeclosureRadar.com.
“While ‘I Survived Real Estate’ is designed to be a fun event that provides real estate professionals with the latest and best business intelligence available, we take our fundraising effort very seriously,” Norris said. “We work cooperatively with our many partners to put on the best event possible, and we thank them for all they do.”
